DRESS

Parents are reminded to dress their children appropriately for school.

FOOD

Snacks such as sandwiches, fruits, cookies, juice and what the children make in cooking class will be served at snack time. However, if the children wish to bring their own snacks, they are welcome to do so. Directresses must be alerted to any food allergies a child may have at the time of his/her registration.

Note: Children have to bring their own lunches.

CHILDREN'S ILLNESSES

Absences due to illness must be accompanied by a medical certificate.

The school will also appreciate a phone call if your child is unable to attend school.

If your child has a fever, parents are reminded to keep him/her at home for at least 24 hours AFTER the fever has subsided, before coming back to school. If your child develops a FEVER in school, or is found to have a RUNNY NOSE, parents will be called to take the child home immediately.

This is an MOE directive issued to ALL registered kindergartens, and will be strictly enforced by the school.

If your child has caught an infectious disease, chicken pox for example, the school should be alerted so that action can be taken immediately and an epidemic can be prevented.

SAFETY

Parents must inform the directresses of who will send and pick their child up from school. If it is somebody other than the parents, they must be brought to the school to be introduced.

Otherwise, the school will NOT release the child to that person, even though the child may be familiar with them.

The school gate will be locked fifteen (15) minutes after school starts for the safety of the children. You may contact the office for queries.

ACCIDENT POLICY

There is a first aid box on the premises and all staff are trained in first aid. While the school will take every measure possible to ensure the safety of the children, accidents can still happen. In the unlikely event of an accident:

The school will call for an ambulance.
One directress will inform the parents.
One directress will accompany the child in the ambulance.
The parents will meet the directress at the hospital.
One directress will fill in the accident book and bring it to the hospital.

QUARTERLY NEWSLETTER

A monthly newsletter will be distributed to the parents to keep them abreast of the activities in school. We are committed to protecting the rights of the children, and we will only publish announcements and articles that are current, accurate, reliable and comprehensive.

PARENTAL RESPONSIBILITY

If your child is unable to attend school for any reason, please inform the directresses.

Should you wish the directresses to administer medication to your child, please make sure you fill in a Medical Record Form which you can obtain from the staff.
